NFT for Saving Afghans – Community Project on OpenSea with Global NFT Artists

NFTs for Saving Afghans is a collaborative project by 40 NFT artists from across the world who have come together for this cause to help Afghans relocate safely across the seas, given the unsafe and turbulent situation in their homeland. All proceeds from the artwork sales will go directly to No One Left Behind, which

is a non-profit organization that aims to

to evacuate and resettle thousands of Afghan interpreters who saved many American and coalition lives during the Afghanistan War. The efforts are currently being directed towards safely bringing them back to the United States of America and help them get settled there.


I first found out about this project from Andrew Kingsburg's post on Instagram and immediately reached out to him for an opportunity to contribute to his noble cause. Through Andrew's network and social media posts, we gathered 40 extremely talented artists who strongly believe in this cause and joined this project from across the world. Each artist contributed a piece of art ( painting, photograph or illustration) that was then minted as an NFT on opensea.


In the last couple of weeks the team has conducted multiple information sessions on Clubhouse groups and has done extensive marketing through twitter and Instagram to spread the word. Within a week, we sold 24 pieces of art and raised $11K .

We are also extremely fortunate to have the world famous award-winning Nat Geo photographer Michael Yamashita onboard this project. He has been extremely supportive and contributed 10 limited edition photographs from his travels in Afghanistan to be minted as single piece NFTs priced at 1 ETH.


How it works?

Each participating artist will contribute one image of their artwork which will be be minted as a limited edition one on one NFT priced at 0.1 ETH. Minting will be on OpenSea starting on August 23, 2021. The secondary sale proceeds of these works will also go towards the cause. Catch live updates on the project’s progress here.

My artwork is titled " Children of the Sky"

This NFT celebrates the power of community and friendship. We are stronger together as a community and can reach the stars. This photograph was clicked in the Gobi desert in Inner Mongolia while on a camping trip with friends. There is unity in diversity, when a community comes together we can solve problems collaboratively to bring positive impact to society and the world. This art work is currently sold to Clementina Giraldo for 0.1 ETH.
